47 killed, 200 injured as violence grips Karachi
At least 47 people were killed, with several others injured in ongoing violence across Karachi after assassination of the MQM MP Raza Haider. Raza Haider and his guard Khalid have been laid to rest at Azizabad, Karachi. According to hospital sources, at least 47 people have been killed while 200 others got injuries. At least 14 dead bodies were taken to Abbasi Saheed Hospital, 15 dead bodies to civil hospital, 15 dead bodies to Jinnah hospital and 3 dead bodies were brought to Qatar hospital. As many as 100 vehicles set ablaze in different areas of Karachi. People are stranded on roads as public transport has stopped functioning. Petrol pumps around the city have also closed down. Aerial firing was also reported in different parts. Markets have been closed down in Manzoor Colony, Saddar town.
